Hi there,

Does anyone know if the Korean Consulate (in Toronto) notarize degree confirmation letters? I've been hired by SMOE for this fall and will be receiving my visa package from them this week. The problem is I won't be getting my diploma until November. Crying or Very sad Would it work if I get a letter from the university stating I am waiting for my diploma to be mailed in November?? I've already booked my flight to leave on August 23. Crying or Very sad

I hope your ticket is refundable.

They USUALLY don't and you USUALLY require the actual DEGREE parchment to get your visa.

You are in the same boat as me, but I have to wait until FEB. You have to get the diploma and that is final. (I email 2 different recruiter and that is their word).

Why did you book your flight? MY SMOE contract says they book the flight.

Nope, not yet. I'll have to contact them sometime this week about my situation. If they don't notarize my letter, I'll have to start in Feb 2009. I don't know if I can wait this long! I might just apply for a C4 visa and do a 6 week winter camp instead. ><

Really?
My recruiter from Koreaconnections sent an e-mail to all accepted applicants to book their flight. I even e-mailed her asking whether I should book my flight or not (since I still had some pending documents) and she told me to do it right away!!

does this apply to all Korean Consulates? I live in Washington and I just planned on bringing my degree confirmation letter when I go to apply for my visa. I already have it notarized and apostilled. So they won't take this??

(also, I'm recruited by koreaconnections as well... and on their flight booking form it says to arrive on the 24th. does it matter what time?)
