|
It's the one in this video: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=6MR-nb_UFl0
Basic rundown:
Basic specs are listed on the video.
It's a large laptop. Low portability, but a 17 inch 1900x1200 widescreen display.
I have Vista Ultimate, XP media center and linux, any combination of which can be put on the computer. It is currently runs with the option to boot to linux or XP.
It's not in perfect shape, but it is completely functional and has a brand new high capacity battery.
More details or pictures can be given on request.
I am not listing a price but I saw this exact model go for $800 on ebay last week and slightly inferior ones seem to be going $625-$700.
Drop a bit for mediocre condition and it shouldn't be hard to guess what a fair offer would look like. |

Alright, it seems people aren't noticing the specs on the video:
2.0Ghz Pentium M
2.0Gb of RAM
60-80Gb hard drive*
Geforce 6800go video card
17 inch 1920x1200 display
*I forgot how much I put in the different partitions so I can't check very easily. If you're into downloading movies and such you'll want an external hard drive as well, but I recommend using an external hard drive for that anyway for most people.
Condition:
There is no crack on the hinge. All mechanics are in perfect working order. However, there are some minor markings on the casing, the F5 key is missing, and there are a few dead pixels on the far left side of the screen.
That said, the F5 key still functions perfectly, the wear is almost negligible, and the dead pixels can only be seen on a near white background. The former owner didn't even realize they were there.
Will sell at the end of August. |

I will probably accept that if that's the highest offer. Make sure you read thoroughly and understand exactly what you are getting. |

In all fairness, I did say that it wasn't in perfect condition and you neglected to ask about the details before you "bid." I appreciate that you at least said something rather than leaving me in the dark though. |

It's heavy enough that I wouldn't want to carry it around all day. I think I saw a spec sheet that said 7.7 pounds, but my memory isn't flawless.
Remember, this has a 17inch screen. Huge for a laptop. It's aimed more at the desktop replacement market than the "carry it in your purse" market. |

That is a bit big for my tastes. I don't think I can offer you something you would be happy with. |

Alright, I may just keep it keep it if no one is terribly interested. I'm rather fond of it actually.
It's really ideal for someone who would like to be able to bring their computer around with them but needs a better workspace than a smaller laptop can provide. The 1900x1200 screen gives you over twice as much space as a normal 15.4 screen.
Also, the graphics card in this thing outperforms the 8400, which is the fastest graphics card you'll see on most new laptops. That means that this laptop games better than the vast majority of brand new laptops.
It's also not crippled by lack of RAM like a lot of laptops, so it performs very well in general. |

The problem with the GF6800 is that for newer games it just won't drive the LCD's native res with good detail settings. Of course that's true of most laptop graphics. |

Right, I'm not saying you're going to run crysis on this, but if you play CS, WoW, TF2 type games this machine will run them without any problems whereas most laptops would not.
It still won't compare to a nice desktop, but since even the "high end" laptops usually come with a 8400 at best you'd probably be spending 2k before you get a better performing laptop than this one. I just figured that was worth noting. |
