The dead include three Korean climbers. An ice fall caused some climbers to fall off the mountain just below the summit. Other climbers were left stranded above the bottleneck as fixed ropes were dislodged in the fall. It's said that the Koreans were among the strongest climbers and their team helped save many other climbers.
