So I can kind of understand the deal with credit cards here. Too many people skipping out on the tab. The int'l bank cards? Standard 16th Century mercantilist financial policy, not too shocking from dong saeng Dae Han Min Guk.

But--I have to give my arc to register for the CGV movie site? So waegugin can GO to the movies but we can't choose where we want to sit? What the hell is it with this country and their protectionist xenophobic crap?

Rolling Eyes

I registered with the CGV website and I can choose where I sit. Yeah you can give your ARC to register but you have to do that for each Korean website.

What's the problem?

Settle down.

Koreans have to give their citizen's ID number (the parallel to our alien ID number) whenever they sign up for anything. We're not being discriminated againstwe're being treated the same as them. The requirement is due to government laws and regulations, incidentally.

I signed up for the CGV site, gave my alien registration numberno problem. But even if you opt not to sign up, you can still choose your seats at the box office.

Why do people insist on screaming xenophobia at the slightest of inconsequential matters? 9 times out of 10, it has nothing to do with xenophobia, discrimination, or anything like it. The net effect is to make the claimant look just plain silly.

The site does not work. Every time i enter the number it says invalid. I've used with my middle name, without, last name first, last name last, etc. Korean websites are notoriously hard to navigate.

You have to enter your full name as it appears on your ARC. Capital letters only.

I managed to do it (quite easily, as a matter of fact). So did Whistleblower.

Your problem sounds like operator error.
