Where's the best place to search for office jobs. I'm not particular about which industry yet I'm just looking at this point. I know joining the AmCham is great for networking and such. All the classifieds I find on the net are all for english teachers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

All the major companies recruit through headhunter companies. why? Korean human resources aren't designed to review/interview/hire candidates. They outsource all that to headhunters that do all the legwork for them.

A lot of companies have "hiring drives" that are just gimmicks. Hyundai advertises hiring waves for foreigners twice a year. No one ever gets interviewed. Its basically a publicity stunt to show the public that they are a global company and hire foreigners regularly.

How good is your Korean? It should be pretty good if you want a shot at a job.

The Korean could trip me up but might be able to get by. Would you happen to know any good headhunter companies? Thanks

No one? Tell that to my friend who worked for Hyundai Motors for five years before he decided to return back home and start his own business. He even suggested that I should send my CV to Hyundai as well... which I did not, because the salary was awful for the amount of hours you had to put in.

You clearly don't work for a major Korean company, my old company was constantly interviewing & hiring candidates. Pretty much all seniors were involved in the interview process.

Try telling that to some of the foreigners currently employed in the HR dept at Hyundai. Rolling Eyes

So if you're hired from in-country, you can count on long hours and crap pay. I'm sure there are a couple of exceptions, but.....

REPEAT THE MANTRA...

GO BACK TO YOUR HOME COUNTRY
GET AN MBA OR MS ENGINEERING
GET HIRED IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY
GET TRANSFERED TO KOREA
