They seem to get these purple marks and generally seem to bruise a lot.

Is it diet, genetics, pollution...what?

Koreans and east asians in general seem to have worse skin than the likes of Europe, North America and Oz. I wonder why.....

You should see Korean baby bottoms (and I don't mean in a sexual way). The Korean doctors who help deliver new born babies smack the hell out of them on the bottom to make sure they are breathing when they are out of the womb. The bruise is often around for years.

Along the same line.

Has anyone noticed that a number of Korean women have what I can only describe as a scar on one of their shoulders. I can understand one or two people having an accident, etc. injuring themselves, but I've noticed similar injuries on a number of Korean celebrities.

By chance is it some medical treatment? I believe someone in another posted a link (image) of a women with a hideous thing on her shoulder (I can't recall what he/she called it) but is it possible that this 'mark' I've seen is the same thing?

Unfit. Poor circulation.

-Is my guess...There does not seem to be a culture of fitness among young women here. The only people you see out jogging, cycling etc are the elderly, or men.
They don't even go to aerobics. Exercise is seen as something for the old folks.

What about the mosquito scabs on all the kids? It looks like they have scabies. Or eczema too? Or Pillia or whatever they call it here.

Innit. Some Koreans will tell you that only Koreans get them, but their prevalence among other Asian peoples would suggest that Korea's 'pure bloodline' is actually pure bullshit.

k girls have much better skin than westerners. I'll take those marks anyday over freckles, blemishes, wrinkles... You must be high to complain about that.

That's great (and mostly true), but nobody asked.

I've noticed this, too. Sometimes it looks like it's from poor shaving jobs (I don't think many Korean mothers teach their daughters how to shave properly). And in some cases it's from being hit on the back of the legs with a stick by their parents, or teachers if they're still in school. But for the most part I think it comes down to bruising easily and being clumsy.
