are you looking for a novelty set or a real drumkit? a decent CYMBAL costs between $100 and $300, and that doesn't include a stand... i'd say that $500 is the absolute bare minimum you'd have to spend to get a full drumkit with a couple of cymbals, but a new set at this price is probably too crappy to even bother with (used may be ok)... be prepared to spend $1000 to $1500 for a decent drumkit with a few cymbals...

i'd look into renting a practice space with drums or taking drum lessons to find out if drumming is for you before you shell out a whack of cash for your own kit...

p.s. check out this ludwig set for 450 000 W in daegu... i only see one cymbal, so you should probably buy another cymbal and stand...

There are no decent sets for that little money. I recently bought 2 splash cymbals (Sabian 8", Bosphorus 10") for 150,000, and I didn't go for the high end at all.

Try looking for some at E-Mart in the toys.

maybe talk to some of the practice spaces around the city. i have seen a few with what seems like extra sets stacked in a corner going to waste. i am actually in the same boat, looking for a cheap drumset, but i am still trying to figure out the logistics of lugging it around on the metro from show to show.

A good drummer can make do with a snare and a hi-hat. Unless you're covering Black Sabbath or something.

You might want to check out Mr. Lee (aka. "the Soju papa") over at Shindang Market. Take a right as your going out Shindang Station Exit 1 - take a right at your first corner and hike a few long blocks. Go about 75% up the road~ not quite to the Chon gye chon. He's on the left side and you'll see many guitars hanging there. (You're going to pass one dealer with 6 or so guitars on the left side and the lee brothers with a crapload of guitars on the right. It's the Soju papa who may be able to help you. He has a warehouse upstairs with lots of good crap. It's mostly 2nd-hand. Bargain hard with him.

Good luck!

99% of the music clubs in korea will have their own equipment onstage, which usually includes drums and amps... don't worry about lugging around anything but guitars, effect pedals, maybe some nice cymbals and a kick pedal...

this is convenient but can be a problem because it's hard to get the guitar sound you like live... you should practice with your guitar running through a clean-sounding amp and use pedals for drive... this way, you're not dependent on your practice amp for your tone...

Or any song with a bass drum, though those are certainly rare.

Posting for a friend. Please don't PM me:I have a practice drumset its a blue Samick, with Remo heads.

The set includes a throbbing bass drum, two thunderous toms, a deep sonorous floor tom, an acceptable snare, a not-too-great high-hat that sounds tinny, two crashes and a ride cymbal. Unfortunately, I do not have the riser hardware stand for the ride.

Theres no pic. Look at the pic someone else had posted earlier to get the basic idea of drumset.

$350. Includes silencers for all pieces to reduce the sound (an $80 value) and a stool.

Location: Hongdae / Sinchon / Edae area. Cannot deliver.

Contact me at aghastroscope AT yahoo DOT com for more 411.

I dont have an account so my friend is posting this for me.

Therefore, understand that I cannot reply to this board.
