So I bought an Asiana ticket to Japan for like 360,000 won (before fees and taxes) and now just got an email from Asiana about a fare sale, with my route listed for 250,000. Can I call them and get the fare rate, or am I screwed for buying early? |

Sorry, I doubt they will refund you the difference. Look at it this way,. if they increased the fair you wouldn't expect them to call you and ask for the difference would you? |

One idea is to try to refund as much as you can by canceling your ticket. I don't know what the cost will be to cancel your ticket, but if it isn't much you could then get a cheaper flight and cut your losses. (Please let us know if it works)

Asiana usually charge 30,000krw to cancel/ refund a ticket.
So, check that the cheaper flight is available for the dates and times
(also check 'fare rules') to ensure it is suitable for your travel plans.
( Cheap fares often have restrictive terms)
Book and pay for the new flight.
Cancel/ collect refund for the original flight.

I believe you don't have to pay the cancellation fee if you can prove there's been a death in your immediate family and you have to attend the funeral. > Kill someone in your family, show them the death certificate. |

Okay, I spoke to Asiana.
Canceling the ticket is 80,000 won. By canceling and buying a new ticket, I save about 10,000 won. Not worth it. Oh well. |
