Quite a day today. Glad it wasn't a foreigner.

Bungee Jumper Falls to Death
A bungee-jumper was killed in a fall in Naju, South Jeolla Province, Tuesday, after the cord connecting him to the bungee jumping structure failed.
The 36-year-old man jumped from the 37-meter structure at an amusement park but the cord did not sustain his weight and broke. He hit the ground after missing a safety air mattress.
He sustained severe external and internal wounds to his head and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital. |

Accidents happen every day everywhere. Does this accident have some special significance? If so, I don't see what. |

Lack of safety standards in this country is a big issue. |

It's an incident that occurred in Korea. What's wrong with posting it on a KOREAN DISCUSSION BOARD? |

And what if he had been a foreigner? How would the situation have been different? How would your reaction have been different? Or were you merely suggesting that if he had been a foreigner, the outcry here on Dave's would have been deafening? Either way, it's an unfortunate accident that probably could have been prevented. |

Guess the police would have blamed the foreigner who had ate US beef for being overweight. |

At first I was excited to read this, until they clarified it was a he not a she, rendering impossible the chance it was a certain Naju director.
However, a precedent has now been set and one can always hope it'll be followed up on. |
