If the US leaves under an agreement with the democratic Iraqi government, does this mean the war was something of a success? |

Depends on several variables. Will Iraqis generally accept it, have faith in it, and participate in it? Will the govt continue to stand on its own? Will its nascent democratic system continue and evolve? What will its security situation be, not only internally, but with respect to Iran as well? What about the Kurds? Will it become a pro-American or at least not an antiAmerican nation-state? How will its foreign relations go? Will it collaborate with us in the War on Terror? What about commercial relations and oil? |
