Below is # 3 "verification documents from accredited company," which I didn't comprehend until I opened the e-mail attachment and read the documents. The problem is I don't see what #3 has to do with # 1 and 2. They want me to get my diploma apostilled but since there isn't enough time I don't have to but I'm suppose to sign/return documents giving them permission to do Criminal/Credit/Consumer reports/checks on me.
Is this weird, stupid, or unfair? Americans can now be turned away from a Public School job due to bad credit. They can do an online criminal record/credit check through an online service when the recruit has already submitted the CRC/Notary, and Apostille.
They are using the recruits Social Security Number which was provided to them through the CRC. Remember, according to Immigration online criminal record checks are not allowed by American recruits, yet the recruiter can now use it against the recruit. They are sending out documents for recruits to sign/return stating that the recruit has given permission for them to do a "Consumer Report, Credit and Criminal Record check. Of course American law states that when a credit check is done on someone(and used against them for job/credit issues) they have a right to know who has done the credit check. Any thoughts?
This is what is really weird(it doesn't make sense), they gave me 3 options but the 3rd does not have anything to do with the first two. I was advised to do the 3rd to save time. Before I received this information, there was one more thing I was to do, and that is send them my scanned diploma. I did and this is what they said...I fixed some of the horrible grammar.
"Just one more thing about your degree, you didnt provide the information about your degree what need to get on your Degree?
Well, Original Degree is not Education Board way(it can be immigration processing). So, it has to be done one of them.
1. apostille stamp on your copy of Degree
2. affidavit on your copy of degree from USA embassy in Korea
3. verification documents from accredited company
So, at the moment, I guess you can choice number 3 ,as time is not enough
For this we need to get your agreement so, please open the file?
If you send me back, then we will get verification documents instead of apostille
So, please open the file and print it out and sign on it by your handwriting and send me back fax or just in this email if you can use scanner."
I'm thinking that they already have enough teachers and are pulling this additional crap on me to make it impossible? I have done everything they have asked and they keep coming up with more at the last minute. I'm worried that the next thing they will have me get apostilled is my face, tougue, or butt. |

If I am understanding your post right, they want you to use an online source to verify your degree.
They wanted me to do this, but I went ahead and apostilled my diploma and mailed it to them with in a mater of three days.
Best of luck either way. |

No, they wanted me to get my diploma apostilled(first time I heard of this), but since there isn't enough time I can select option three which is to sign/return documents giving them permission to do a credit and or criminal record check(online). I just submitted my CRC, yet they want my permission to do more checks on me.
The online check is not allowed by Americans but they want my permission to do one on me and possibly use it against me. My credit report is currently being disputed. Of course, they wouldn't understand anything about that now would they? Nor would I be given a chance to explain. |

Don't get discourage.
Did you apostilled your CBC?
It can be done in one day: notarize your degrees, then go to the county clerk to verify the notarization, and for third step go to the state dept. to apostill the degrees. For mine, I just went to the Korean consulate and they certified them for me. Call the consulate nearest you and see if they are willing to do it for you.
And for CBC, have the sheriff dept. ( State ) notarized it and then have it apostill by the state dept. The Sheriff dept. can usually do it in a day. Can you go back and ask for another copy? Say you lost it. If yes, you should be good to go. Or maybe someone can do it for you.
Don't let anyone get into your credit report. Your credit repot has nothing to do with them. I'm putting a hold on mine while I am away. Credit report is everything here. |
