As far as visas go, is it feasible? I've heard that you can't apply for a Russian visa from outside your home country if you are going to be in your current country for less than 3 months? Is this true? Anyone else do the transmongolian after leaving korea at the end of their E-2 visa? |

Is that something you heard or something that is new that came into effect?
I flew to Vladivostok two years ago from Seoul, and the travel agent in Korea hooked me with the visa, etc. No need to go back to my particular home country (U.S.), although its technically possible your home country has a different rule for Russia. |

Yes, I its something new, but there are, maybe, some loopholes? Its all rather confusing. I had a friend of a friend whose visa was denied for this reason. |

Whilst Russian work visa regulations have changed recently and regularly, I am highly doubtful that ordinary tourist visas have stopped being issued to foreigners in Korea.
There should be few problems if you have a visa invitation, photo, passport, application form and fee. Hand it over and you should have a visa within the week.
Go to the embassy in person, early one morning, with documents in hand and you should be fine. |
