why the hell do they save documents in HWP format? Don't they realise that nobody outside of korea uses that format, even most Koreans I know don't use it unless thay have to. |

All three of you guys are right. This advert doesn't necessarily mean someone quit. I wish I could see the files, but it's in a strange format my computer doesn't recognize. And, of course, the mere fact this advert has appeared makes the skeptics perk up their ears. Let's see if this turns into a pattern. Time to watch the help-wanteds for more quitters.
I wouldn't replace a quitter, but that's just me. Understand I live in a Catch-22 world: "I will hire on with only those outfits that aren't hiring." |

Not necessarily, it might just have some Korean words in it. |

Why NOT make it in Korean? The person they're looking for has to know both English and Korean.
It's got a pretty crappy salary for a bilingual doesn't it? 2.2 a month blows, hopefully they get holiday or don't work long hours heh. |

I realise that. But why save it as a .hwp file. They are after a westerner right? You don't put job offers in a custom format, that forces you to hunt out and download a program to open it. I don't send cvs in odt format.
Like it or not the international standard is .doc or .pdf
but this is away from the point |

The document is written in Korean. You need HWP to open it.
GEPIK is looking or someone from the big 7 that is fluent in Korean and English. No speculation on my part but the posting seems to indicate that someone "might" be leaving. Again, speculation on my part, but anyone's guess is just as good. The contract date is from September 1 to August 31.
220만윈 2.2 million KRW per month. Nothing to write home about for all the responsibilities the person will take on.
BTW, the formating just allows the people at GEPIK to narrow down candidates right away. IMHO the logic is this: "If someone cannot read Korean fluently, then we'll will find out right away." |

One last time, then I will leave it alone (probably)
Korean text can be saved in .doc, odt, pdf formats no problem the only weeding thay are doing is for those with hwp on their computer |

2,2 is waaay too low for that job. Listening to hundreds of teacher complain everyday..... you couldn't pay me enough money to do that. |

You are absolutely right blackjack except for one thing, this is Korea, and people in Korea, i.e. Koreans never see the logic in doing things the easy or the right way.
I understood what you meant and just tried to look at it the way the Koreans would in their own way. It makes no particular sense, but the beauty of living and working in Korea is that it doesn't have to make sense if it is the way they want it to be. Cheers! Your point is a very good one. |

Regardless of whether GEPIK is replacing or adding a coordinator, I hope that they find a good coordinator. |
