I'm totally for the events that let me look at women's butts:
- beach volleyball
- diving sports
- gymnastics
- triathlon
The rest I don't care so much about.
Just be glad bowling and bridge have not been added. |

They should expand the olympics and just pack in as many new sports as possible. Go from two weeks to a month long.
Sports to add: Foosball, darts, billiards, in line skating, That asian foot volleyball game, smear the queer, bowling, air hockey, pinball, pee wee golf, craps, jousting, lacrosse, stickball, dodgeball, kickball, rock scissors paper. |

| Way too costly, which result in barely any bids. |

| I wonder what does the IOC do with the money they get for tv rights? NBC paid about a billion dollars this time around and thats just for the USA rights. The bid cities/countries pay for the entire cost, so where does that money go? |

I have the same question about Korean broadcasting rights too, especially in regards to world cup soccer. Three channels all show the korean matches. No one would pay rights for that. Maybe its just show up with your camera crew and do your thing? |

There are way too many events in the Olympics and some of them have got to go. Now, I'm not just being selfish and asking to get rid of events I don't watch. I'd never watch soccer, track, gymnastics, or marathon stuff, but you can't get rid of those.
However, there are some completely retarded events. For starters, we have to lose anything in which the athletes can be fat. If you're fat, you're not a real Olympian.
Goodbye to: archery and shooting
I wouldn't argue these are easy activities, but come on, too many fat people involved. |
Hey, I represent that remark!
Although, yes, an overweight (undertall ) person can participate in archery, many are of average size and weight. Archery is an ancient art that takes great skill to do well, and yet it is something anyone can practice and become good at. You will find overweight, skinny, old, young, handicapped, and any other type of person practicing it. Try it, you'll like it!

Not as many levels as Men's Synchronized Swimming. First of all, the waterproof makeup looks gay. |

Soccer should go. If an Olympic medal isnt the pinnacle you can win in your chosen field, the sport should be cut from the games. Soccer squads that are sent to the games are generally severely understrength.
The Olympics is way too bloated, too many willy nilly sports with too many pointless white elephant venues. The way it is now, only huge cities like Beijing and London are capable of hosting, and to be honest, I think even London's Infrastructure will struggle come 2012. |

Thats because the rules state that all bar 3 members of the team must be under the age of 23.
As someone else mentioned earlier in the thread watching olympic soccer is a good way to get a feel for who will be strong at the next world cup (2 years later). |
