please help me with this situation if you can....
currently work at a hagwon, contract is up this friday.
am working for EPIK this september, contract begins sept 1.
am still waiting on criminal check to arrive from america to get E2 visa for new contract.
recruiter has told me that since i have a notice of appointment from EPIK that i can go to immigration and extend my sojourn without the criminal check, as the notice of appointment serves as proof that crim check has already been approved by EPIK.
has anyone had experience with this? i wonder if its true because it just seems odd that a notice of appointment would carry that much weight. |

yeah, im gepik, (similar program) and last year worked at hagwon... they said I didn't need criminal background to extend the sojurn, but since they don't want criminals working as teachers, i should get it to them when i could, just to make them feel better.
i delivered it about 3 months after i started working (because of all the red tape back in the states), w/o problems. |
