|
|
Im in korea, im having visa issues. Basically I have to leave the country by August 20th and then return as quickly after as possible with a tourist visa and then do an E2 visa run maybe a week or two later, once I have all my documents.
What is the easiest/cheapest way to do this from Seoul?
Im not even sure which country to go to. Japan seems obvious but maybe Russia or China is a possibility.
Basically, I just need to be out of the country for a few days and Id rather not spend all kinds of money on the trip. Advice is GREATLY appreciated.

Just go to Japan for a day and come back you will automatically get a tourist visa when you arrive in Korea for a set amount of days depending where you are from. |

The cheapest from Seoul? KTX down to Busan and take the ferry over. It's cheaper than a plane these days, especially during summer vacation season. Oh, and the KTX offers a package deal for a return KTX ticket and a return ticket on the Beetle (ferry) that make it even cheaper than buying them separately. |

As long as you leave the country the length of time does not matter.
You can catch the ferry from Busan to Japan and return on the next boat.
You can catch a cheap flight to anywhere and return on the next plane.
If money is your biggest concern, then Japan, HongKong or Taiwan are usually available for cheap if you are a little bit flexible in your dates and flight times / destination cities.
Try JAL, ANA, Cathay Pacific or EVA for some cheap seats. With the exception of the Chuseok long weekend you should be able to find something for about 400k-500k won (tax included).
China and Russia will both cost more and be less convenient because of visa issues.

you can take the ferry from Pusan to Jpn and come back the same day.
it's not a problem; I've done it 2-3 times.

No. Any day, any time. Go over and take the next ferry back.

From Korea, cheap flights don't exist in August. It's HIGH season. All Koreans take their vacations in August. |

Was quoted $450 to Nanjing/Shanghai the other day. Plenty of seats left. |
