My school has many locations throughout Seoul and its surrounding suburbs. My school applied for my visa at branch 'x'. Something has come up and I will be working at one of the other branches within the same company. The problem is the school applied for my visa at one branch, while I will now be working at another branch. They are a good school and want to be on the up-and-up, so they feel they need me to re-send all of my documents to apply for another visa. They are going to pay for all of the extra costs. Does anybody know if immigration can transfer the visa, or does the school have to apply for another visa? This is a new visa and I am not in Korea. Thanks for any advice or experience on the matter. |

We also have many branches, and I have transferred people to other locations. I am under the impression that if the sponsorship is under the same name, then it shouldn't be a problem to transfer your visa at immigration. If you transfer to a new sponsor, that might be a problem.
Best bet is to have the school call immigration though, and get it straight from the source. |

I should also add that the school has different business numbers between branches, I am not sure if that is why there is a hiccup with immi. |

bump.
In addition to my OP, if my school cancels my visa and applies for another visa, will they have to wait 90 days to issue another visa? Keep in mind, the school that is cancelling and asking for a new visa is the same school. |

It is not actually the 'school' who is your visa sponsor. it is the owner of the school who personally sponsors you for the E2 .
If one particular school is part of a franchise (has franchise name) but is individually owned and operated by a private owner, this individual owner sponsors you in immigration .
Check out your present sponsor's name first; and then ask who is to be the new sponsors name ? Dont look at just the school names and business licences .
In your situation I would say the 2 branches you mention had different owners - therefore different sponsors required for a visa. |
