I dont know how that one ended up in the top five list of "the best TNG eps ever..." too whimpy......

Now, "The Best of Both Worlds.... now THAT'S an episode. Just proves Riker is the better captain when given the chance. And is has the Borg. Cool

Glad to see that there are other geeks like me out there. The greatest episode ever was "Yesterdays' Enterprise" (I think that was it). It's the one where they hit a time rift and encounter the Enterprise C which has travelled 90 years into the future.

yeah, and Happy Gilmore's arch-nemesis knocks boots with tasha yar. Wink

well, I guess someone had to. Sad

Ya gotta love the argument between worf and picard in the Borg movie- First Contact. "If were any other man, I would kill you where you stand!"

worf was not one to mince words! Cool

Now I dont think youre a true Geek if you only profess liking STAR TREK. if you dress up like it, or youre one of those hard core sci fi fans, then your sailing into trouble territory though.

so did the new movie get pushed back again? Rolling Eyes

Yea, I think the new movie was pushed back again. I think it'll come out later in 2009. Apparently, William Shatner is pretty pissed off that he's not in it. Hello, Bill!!.....You got knocked off in Generations. I think movie goers have had enough of miraculously bringing people back to life.

Loved "Inner Light." Also, "Darmok:" (starring the guy who played Captain Terrell in Wrath of Khan) Shaka, when the walls fell! I think I'd have to go with "All Good Things" as my favorite, though.

Come on! Bill wrote all those books where he was able to resurrect his alter ego, and go on to write tons more worthless crap to keep his ego alive.......

Personally, I always thought Ben Affleck was the perfect choice for a younger Kirk. I mean, he's got the incessantly hammy personality disorder, the "me, me, me" narcissistic streak even when surrounded by better talent, and of course, the horrible hair, crying for the "Tribble" toupee.

As far as individual scenes go, I always liked Whorf and his son, when his son gets sheepish talking about the Klingon hero and his evil brother, and says they should have tried to talk out their problems. To which Whorf screams, "KAHLESS WOULD RATHER DIE THAN LIVE MOHLAR'S TYRANNY!!!" Evil or Very Mad

Yep, that was a great one. I also thought the one where Picard was captured and tortured by the Cardassians was really well done. I read that it was an episode that was really important to Patrick Stewart as he's been a lifelong advocate and supporter of Amnesty International. I thought Patrick Stewart was amazing in that episode.

A must read for any TNG fan. Yeah, it was en vogue to hate Wesley Crusher back in the day, but Wil Wheaton is cool.

"THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!!!"

I know it was an "homage" to Die Hard, but the one where Picard is trapped on the ship and has to fight the terrorists alone is a personal favorite too.

Cant go wrong with a Die Hard knock-off!

Great link!!

I totally hated Wesley Crusher in TNG. He was just one of those goody-goody punchable boys.

Is this actually Wil Wheaton writing? He's funny!!

Yes, he actually wrote that. He's also got a blog called Wil Wheaton Dot Net in Exile. I don't read it that often, but he seems to be a very intelligent, interesting guy. But you just can't beat those stories of his about Wesley Crusher.

Did anyone actually LIKE wesley?

The much better "pathetic loser" character has to be Reg Barclay, played by eveyone's favorite A-teamer, Dwight Schultz. First he's "Howling Mad" Mudoch, then the nyper-neurotic lieutenent on TNG.

I always thought he was written as a sly insult to ST fans, showing what a Trekkie would actually be like on board the Enterprise. Well, beats being a "Red Shirt" at least.....

I have to admire the guy for turning his minor notoriety into a profitable Internet persona.

I do give Wesley credit for bagging Ashley Judd.
