they can't deport a man for risking his life against a monster that eats children. It's just not right.

Well, they did deport him as he was only here on an E2 teacher's visa.
That was when a lot of the brouhaha was going on about E2ers doing work and activities outside their visa status.
This guy got busted for it.

If you are ever in a movie, use a stage name:
-Karl Hungus
-Dick Dirkson
-Kip Winger
-David Lee Hagar
-Eddie Van Hendrix
-Geddy Lee
-Brock Landers
-Chest Rockwell
-Rod Johnson
-Peter Hardman
-Peter Gozinya
-Ron Jeremy

just a few suggestions!

I believe it was David Joseph Anselmo. He's been in a number of Korean TV shows.

What an odd little country this is. I cant believe Immigration would actually waste man hours tracking down the guy because he had a bit part in a crappy Korean movie.

The Host was an excellent movie, and has made it onto quite a few "best of Sci-Fi" lists world wide.

According to IMDB forums he was on a 90 day entertainment visa when he did the movie. His boss thought the visa would cover his work in the movie but apparently it didn't.

Sounds like movie industry bosses aren't much brighter than many hagwon owners we hear of.

Maybe the actor felt that it was actually worth it Laughing

It wasn't just any Korean movie. It might have even helped him with his career.

Watch the excruciatingly painful first 5 minutes- which shows the whole premise of how the monster was created- and tell me it's a good movie.
I dare ya!

The premise is from the real story of a doctor on the USFK base who unethically dumped a few gallons of old formadehyde in the sewage system which dumps into the Han River.
The Koreans went ape sh*t as if the guy had been force feeding nuclear waste to every school child in the nation!

Why the f*** does the sewage system dump into the Han River? It's not USFK's fault. That's the locals who pollute their own sacred river!

Anyway, the whole premise of this stupid movie is that on the USFK base, an American doctor- played by CSI Las Vegas' Sam Braun- orders his Korean underling to dump about 40-60 gallons of old bottles of formaldehyde into the sink, eventually running into the Han.
The big deal is made that the bottles are old and "dusty". Somehow that creates some bizarre chemical mix that turns a normal small amphibious creature into a large, bloodthirsty monster terrorizing the Han.

Good movie my a$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the host was mediocre at best, and about as believable, special effects-wise, as some of the monty python tv series.

I and Rotten Tomatoes (92%) disagree with you.
