Metal band Anthrax will make its first ever appearance in South Korea on Sunday as the headliners of the 10th Annual Dongducheon Rock Festival at Mount Soyo.
The band will include guitarist Scott Ian and new singer Dan Nelson, who joined the band late last year.
Anthrax first rose to prominence in the 1980s thrash metal scene and has sold millions of records.
The festival includes rock bands from Korea and Japan from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. beginning Friday.
An amateur rock band competition was scheduled for Thursday.
Tickets can be purchased through interpark.com or at the event.
Servicemembers receive a 30-percent discount on tickets, according to the festival Web site.
Regular prices for a one-day pass on Friday or Saturday is 27,500 won ($27.50) and 33,000 won ($33) on Sunday. Two-day tickets cost between 50,000 and 55,000 won, and a three-day pass costs 66,000 won.
Camping is free and equipment will be available for rental.
The Mount Soyo event stage is a few miles from the Camp Casey main gate or a short walk from the Mount Soyo subway station on Line 1.
