http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/jul/28/voight/

"Theodore Dalrymple:
"In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade, or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are focused to remain silent when they are told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity.* To assent to the obvious lies is to cooperate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. A persons standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control."

Maybe you should be honest that you are quoting not the article, but a comment from an unregistered user on the internet. Newsflash: almost anyone (even conservatives pretending to be liberals) can post on the internet. That doesn't necessarily mean it is true.

Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains.

Exactly.

The cultural attacks, by which I mean the attacks on Obama's personality, are getting annoying. Its not a commendation for the conservative movement that this is all they can come up with.

I think Obama needs to stick to issues, issues, issues in his response. He's most compelling when he talks about how he's going to bring us back from the brink of incompetence.

Of course, he said that before Bush Jr. was born, so it no longer counts.

A persons standing

From what I've read of Obama, he is talking about how the community, all of us, need to work together to solve problems. This is not socialism. This is reality. The nay-sayers accuse him of ever more extreme ideas because they have other agendas.

What is wrong with thinking of all of us in the country as members of a group with some common problems that need to be addressed? The idea that we are all family did not use to be a forbidden idea. What is starting to happen is the panic of the losers. We have just a bit more than 2 1/2 months left till the election. The hysterics are getting hysterical.

I never knew that their was a "method" of quoting. I just quoted it because it speaks truth. Sorry, I shouldn't have put it with Obama.

There's a lot of things I like about Obama as well. I am still undecided on him.

Perhaps in GWB's case, there is neither heart nor brains?

Given you can't vote in American elections, who cares? This thread has as much point about your rambling about the power of witches and the evils of rock 'n' roll, gramps.

Not that it's true, but I'd be all for an increased in Socialist tendencies amongst the youth of the US. We could do with a few things...

Real governmental funding in, and preferably ownership of, renewable energy infrastructure.

Real government funding put into a national system of high speed trains. Why we're wasting money on corn as a biofuel and driving up food costs around the world I'll never understand. I do know why, and I blame Tom Harkin. I'd take a fast, affordable train before I'd fly any day.

Socialized education and medicine would also go a long way to increasing the health and education of our citizens which would then increase our prowess in a global economy.

You are completely out of touch with reality. Why should we believe anything you post? I love reading your crap cuz it's more entertaining than Stan Lee at his prime.

Actually, I don't hate Obama at all. How can I hate a guy who preaches the social gospel so eloquently; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf0x_TpDris.

So before you quickly judge me...maybe you shouldn't. Smile

I think it would hard to say anyone rushes to judge you given your several year history and your long history of posting nut bar religious crap.

Let's see, Obama believes in the following;

1. There is evil in the world,
2. Jesus Christ is His savior and redeemer.
3. That he was selfish when he was younger and was out of God's will
4. Faith based initiatives
5. Helping the least of these

Some of the greatest men believe in what I believe in. Your arrogance in condemning me will only come back to haunt you MM2. I promise you that.
