It's almost impossible these days.

No wonder foreign investors are backing out of Korea. Right when they get in the front door they are bombarded by extortionate prices of accomodations.

Are you looking for somewhere to crash near the airport?

Just stay in the jimjilbang/sauna in the basement of the airport itself. It's 15,000 and extremely comfortable.

Then, when you wake up, you'll already be in the airport. It doesn't get more convenient or cheap than that.

You can sleep in the sauna? Yes, they have a sleeping room with bunk beds, but it was really hot and loud when I was there. I crashed in the TV room. Bring an alarm clock.

How do you get to that jimjibang? Is it directly underneath the airport itself? Or is it a taxi ride or a walk someplace else?

I like the idea of having a convenient way to be ready for an early morning flight along with some adequate coffee and breakfast before hand. I like to be within walking distance of where I need to be early.

I take it that no one can verify this Jimjilbang in the airport? Maybe there's a few yeogwans on Incheon with early morning door to door car service? I just don't want to sleep in Seoul and have to worry about getting to the airline check in counter by 7:30AM as the airport is not that conveniently close to Seoul city.

Its more a sauna than a jimjilbang -- I've used it but I havent slept there. Men only. Nice enough but small & somewhat spartan. "Extremely comfortable"? Theres a handful of plastic loungers but if they're occupied you'd be sleeping on the bare floor.

Last month I spent a night at Airport Guesthouse -- it was great. Family-run operation in a new officetel 2 minutes from the airport. Smallish but immaculate rooms. Bars, restaurants, shops, & pc room at hand. I showed up without a reservation on a friday night & it cost 45000 won, though booking ahead might not be a bad idea.

Mr Kwon the friendly proprietor speaks english & does pickups & dropoffs at the airport (or will guide you to an easy bus).

Note: there are several businesses called "Airport Guesthouse" -- this one can be reached at (032) 743-0979. Their website at www.icnhostel.com seems to be temporarily down.

Thanks a bunch, I'll just given him a call and go out there and see what I can find. I take it Incheon is not really an airport you sleep in and you really don't want to sleep in an airport though it happens.

There is quite a bit of lodging within minutes of Incheon airport, but no phone numbers are found when Googling, just booking sites that say no online availability. Only addresses are given.

I ended up sleeping at the Sauna at Incheon airport a few weeks back to catch a flight to SE Asia early the next morning. You can sleep there, they have small beds, as well as a lounge room (to the left of the sinks in the locker room) with large, soft chairs. From 9pm until 6 am I only had to pay W10,000, the listed price was 15,000 but they gave me 5,000 off for some reason. Not the most comfortable place to sleep, but definitely worth it for the price.

It's in the basement level of the airport, so it's a very convenient location!

Does anyone know of a jimjilbang women can get into near the airport? Or one that's easy to get to from the airport? 14 hour wait at the airport next week Shocked

bump. Need info on this airport jimjilbang... half of what i read says men only, the other half says both sexes are welcome, but segregated.

If you are okay staying a 90 minute bus ride away from the airport, there is an excellent jjimjilbang behind Seoul Station, complete with large rooms dedicated to sleeping (100s of beds for each sex). It's called Shiloam. From the front of Seoul Station, you have to get around to the back. During business hours, you can go into the Lotte dep't store that's to the right as you face the station, walk past the lockers, around the corner and down the stairs. If it's closed, go around to the right (past the old station), turn left to go down a corridor of homeless people, and down some stairs in the back. Once behind that whole complex, go right to the crosswalk under the overpass. Cross the street, and veer left for 10 or 20 meters. You'll see a very steep driveway with a raisable bar gate in front of it. Go up there, the entrance is on the side. It's a 5 story building that says sauna on it. Sorry I can't give better directions, but it is an excellent jjimjilbang and a great place to sleep for 12k won.

You can catch a deluxe bus to the airport on the front end of the corridor of homelessness.
