I used to really enjoy it back in Canada, but gave it up when I came here.

Watching the Olympics has inspired me. Anyone know of any facilities in Seoul?

I'm guessing you mean Olympic style, though I know of many traditional Korean archery ranges, as it's my hobby.

I know of one along the river near Omokyo Bridge in Mokdong, and of course the Taeneung Olympic training facility in NE Seoul.

I used to have a compound bow... and I think it'd be a fairly easy transition to an Olympic style one.

I'm scared to see the prices over here though Crying or Very sad

Suwon has one at Hwaseong fortress. It's a bit out of the way, but I think you can get a membership and bring your own bow.

I tried traditional Korean archery at Hwaseong fortress. It's good fun!
Defo something that I could get into.
I'm trying to find a range in East Seoul.
Did a google search to no avail. Can anyone help me out?

Ok, if teachers end up being shot in the butt with an arrow by some unknown person, I'm telling the police who did it! Laughing

Like HapKi, Korean traditional archery is my pastime (I've been doing it since 1993). I would recommend trying it, as Olympic (FITA) style in Korea is a rather closed society, while trad archery is very open (and there are over 300 clubs around the country). Equipment for trad style is fairly simple and the price generally won't break you. PM me if you would like to know more.

Tis is basically what I'm looking for, but for Olympic styles. I'd love to find something in the North of Seoul for a range that sell eq and allows walk-ins.

In that case, your best bet is probably to contact the archery association. Here is their web site: http://www.archery.or.kr/ They should be able to steer you in the right direction. Good luck! (Or, as we say in Korean trad archery, 많이 맞추세요--"have many hits")

As I understand it, there are at least 12 Korean traditional archery ranges in Seoul (one for every Gu).
I'm a member of a range in NE Seoul.
PM me for details.

Here is a listing (in Korean) of traditional clubs all around Korea. Some info (like club representative) might be out of date, but the basic info should be correct.

I'll be visiting Seoul in mid Nov for 1 week.
Thanks
