How do I know if my visa is a multi-entry or whatever Visa? I just received it back from the Korean consulate in Chicago today. |

Update: My visa is a single-entry Visa.
This being said, I would like to know if it is possible to change it to a multi-entry visa? Can this be done at Customs or whatever when I arrive at Incheon Airport? |

When you apply for your ARC you can apply for a multi-re-entry permit at the same time.
The alternative is to pop into the immigration office at the airport before you leave on vacation and get a re-entry stamp.

You can get a multiple re-entry visa at a local immigration office (as mentioned when you get your ARC card is a good time to do it). It will cost about 30-50,000 won, I think, I cant remember exactly.
Or you can purchase single re-entry visas at immigration at the airport each time you leave the country. |

nate2008, when you go to the local immigration office to get your ARC, you will need to fill out a form and pay some additional money, I think it is around 30,000 KRW to update your visa to multiple entry. They can do it all at the immigration office while you are applying for the ARC. I was just at immigration yesterday with some friends and saw all the forms. Easy to do, but the immigration offices are quite busy these days, so you may have to wait a while if you are in a metropolitan area close to Seoul. So, when you walk in if you see a crowd look for the "take a number" machine and get your slip. The wait can be up to 1 - 2 hours depending on where you are in line. We waited for almost 2 hours yesterday, got up to the counter and the immigration officer said. "I'm sorry" we just changes the system and now the immigration office you have to go to isn't here (Uijonbu), it is in Chuncheon. Good luck. |

30,000 won for a single use re-entry permit.
50,000 won for a multi use (no limit within your year) re-entry permit.

For Americans, Multiple entry is automatic and free for E-2 visa holders. It should say 'M' under 'Entry' or something like that on the visa. F-4 and F-2, not free.
But, don't get your multiple entry visa until you want to use it. If you stay on your same visa for a second year, the multiple entry visa continues. |

Can you give a link where they say that a multi-entry is free to Americans? I want a refund if it is!!!! |

If you're serious about getting a refund, I think you'll be disappointed.
It's just like anything in life where it's included. You already got it. You can't really get rid of it. |

Mine is definitely a single entry visa, as it says "S" under the entry part. And I am American. It seems like someone in the consulate would have noticed that, so I'm inclined to believe that a multi-entry visa is not exactly standard for Americans. |
