Mine:

1. Religion
2. Martial arts (well....only MMA and grappling)
3. Is ESL teaching a "real job"?
4. Are there any good looking western women in Korea?
5. How much money we all made BEFORE coming here.
6. That great, 6 figure job waiting for somebody back home.
7. Typos in posts.
8. How many times someone is getting laid in 1 night in Seoul.
9. Why marajuana and all drugs should be legalized in Korea and the rest of the universe.

Good list. I, too, avoid talking about all that junk except the last one. (I'm a pot-head Canadian Razz)

After working at a huge hogwan and living in an expat bubble for a couple of years with a huge number of douchebags, I find living in a rural area and working at a public school bliss. I never have to have an unwanted conversation with expats I can't stand. It's fantastic.

Only ever discussed one or two of those topics before.

There are lots of non-douchebag Westerners out there too.

But you were just discussing MMA in the off topic forum and everyone was laughing at the fool you were making of yourself. Maybe it's not other people who are the problem?

Yeah, well, the OP called Korean men "slanted eyes" in another post and then wondered why the post was deleted. Yep, he's got problems.

Well that's funny, because I'm a Muslim, former MMA grappler who is taking a year off of my "real job" to teach ESL and search for good looking western women in Korea. It's cool though because I was making a ton of money before I came out here and my job is still waiting for me when I get back to the Unitreedf Statesssffd. Anyway, I totally got laid multiple times in Seoul last night whilst attending a drug legalization protest.

I'm tired of listening to jackass foreigners brag about how they smack kids in class.

-how (anything you care to mention) is better in canada
-how you met this girl in tinpan last night
-'i'm a film director/actor/singer/dj and i teach some english on the side'- in other words, you're an english teacher with a hobby
-why i should go to (insert name of poor country) where the girls will treat me like a god
-why korea is a stupid country, with a long list of reasons (spoken in a loud voice, on the subway, surrounded by koreans, a good 50% of whom will understand what you are saying)

Heck, you dont need a subway for that. Just look for the most pissoed off person in a Western-run bar, and let his mouth do the talking! and rest assured, ALL the Koreans there will understand him, and probably expect to hear the vent!

I had to deal with all of that at my first two hagwons.
Working alone can be a wonderful thing.

- hockey or baseball or soccer... WGAF!
- how great Tim Horton's coffee is and how many testiculars you'd remove for a small taste

Waeguks often become a predictable pain in the rear here after a while.

I prefer hanging out with koreans nowadays...
