Sounds fun! I both have Risk and Monopoly. Have you ever played booze Monopoly?
If you land on one that buddy owns~ then it's time to take a shot of Tennessee Jack Daniels, or Kentucky Bourbon Whisky, or St. Jameson Irish Whiskey, or Boardwalk somek (beer n soju)...etc. Last one standing wins!!
Definitely interested. |

I have played Booze Monopoly before but a different version where a shot of Booze is taken if you go to jail or land on free parking.
As for the amateur Scrabblers I hear you but those rules are not the Official Scrabble Rules. Two letter words and archaic words are allowed if they are in the Official Scrabble Dictionary which is made by Merriam Webster.
My Dad is an English Professor and LOATHES this dictionary .
But if you play a lot it's fair game.
What I do when I play with Dad is he picks his dictionary and I pick mine and if it is in one or the other then if it's okay. If it's in neither it's not- of course this is only after an official challenge is made- in which you risk losing your turn.
You can hate the rules but making up your own is kind of bogus...
All in good fun though |

hmmm... not much of a drinker. Guess it's not that much fun to be the last one standing after drinking water all evening... |

If you've been playing games like Monopoly and Clue(do) all your life, being introduced to games like Catan and Carcassonne will be akin to starting on deluxe Swiss chocolate after eating nothing but Crunky for years.
Not that there's anything wrong with those games, but they do get a little repetitive if they're the only games you've had since you were a kid. A big plus to modern games is that most are expandable so you're constantly adding new layers to the gameplay.
One game I've been playing recently (which I can bring) is called Thurn and Taxis - a race to build the best postal routes through medieval Germany (a lot more entertaining than it sounds). |

@Illysook, that's awesome, I'm doing the same thing. (travel scrabble should help with the long flight next week)
also, I love the name Got Wood For Sheep?, or may I suggest "Where are all the damn Bricks?"
I'll be in Seongnam, so I think Yongin shouldn't be too far away, but I would be nice if it were on the Subway.
Any love for Puerto Rico up in here? |

I'd be up. It depends a lot on location and time/date.
I like many of those games, and I know many more. |

I don't know a single game on that original list but Clue, Monopoly and Risk are old favorites and I'm sort of in the neighborhood. Let me know if anything develops. |

Ok. Let's give it a shot in Yongin then.
I love to cook and bake, and have more than enough time to do it up right.
What about a 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon? Gives people a chance to sleep in a bit and then drag themselves out here.
OR
We could make it a bit earlier and I could make a Sunday brunch. |

Nice!
Re: Puerto Rico, I tried it and appreciated its subtleties but the overall game concept just didn't grab me. Colonialism is kind of out right now. |
