Hi,
I've been offered a position at KnK International Homeschool in Bundang (a satellite city of the capital). The vacation and pay rate look great. I've done a search, yet nothing negative came up (except for a vague post about the contract).
I wonder if there are any experts out there that would be willing to review the contract or be pm'd on this forum for questions. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.
I am now at the 11th hour.
Thanks to all for reading and replying. |

Have you spoken on the phone with more than 2 current employees of the school? |

I turned down a contract a little more than a year ago. Read the contract carefully. There was a large housing deposit, lots of "extra" work (e.g., Saturdays, evenings), etc. I posted the contract in the contract posting thread and it was raked over quite well for the dubious wording and potential for being messed over.
Also requested to speak to a current teacher there. After three weeks, I received an email from a "foreign" teacher who basically said it was okay but the hours were very long. Vacation time is when the school finds it convenient - not you.
Yeah - the pay looks good, but you can bet they'll probably expect total dedication to the school and will care little about your personal life.
The are "frequent job advertisers" on Dave's. Probably for a good reason.
Just be very, very wary of this icing. It probably doesn't come with cake. |

Unfortunately, I don't think any of my former employers in the states really cared about my personal life as long as I was healthy enough to work.
To the OP/Mod/person waiting... Don't rush into anything especially if you are a newbie. You may think it is the 11th hour but there will probably be 11 more even if you accept the job. Don't let anyone rush you! Don't send that hagwon/any hagwon your passport/diploma. |
