Went to the new Angel-in-us Coffee behind Lotte shopping center in Daejeon today.

They have an oven where you can get freshly baked (from frozen me thinks) "pies" (look more like a turnover/danish) that are so f!@#ing good. Closest thing to a homemade pie I've had for a loooong time.

That's some good shyte.

Yum, I must try that! Wish I could bake my own but I don't have an oven. By the way, anyone knows where I could find cupcakes in Seoul? I looked everywhere, never found them. I must eat some.

Do you make them from scratch or if not, where do you buy them?

Hmmm, I think bass has found the next tasty podcast topic. Would be cool to get a Youtube video of how you make your pie crust, etc. Wink

Making pies is not particularly hard to do. The hardest part is making a good crust (as opposed to one that will just have to do). I'm convinced only grannies can make a good crust.

Speaking of grannies... here's one more use for vinegar, the secret recipe from one of my favorite aunts: Use a teaspoon or so of vinegar for a flakier crust.

Cheeseface, it sounds like a pasty you are describing? Are you Welsh?

The Dunkin Donuts at COEX has them. The one by Paris Baguette and Cold Stone, on the way to Samseong Station. There's another inside by the food court but I don't think it has them.

Ovens are not really expensive. OOps, I mean table top ones. You can get a decent size one for 80,000 won. After you roast a few chickens and bake some potatoes, the price will be made up.

Cupcakes are easy to do, just use any cake recipe.

If the poster found a good place for pies, great. i can not make a pie.
But, I do make pita bread all the time, and you do not need an oven for that. It is made on top of the stove. taste better then anything from a package

If anyone wants, I will post the recipie
