I have an exit order to leave the country by Aug. 20th. I am trying to leave and come back on a tourist visa until my work visa processes.

I am at the Pusan Ferry Terminal and I just realized I forgot the sheet of paper with my exit order on it. (Its in my apartment in Seoul.)

So... is this going to be a problem? The woman at immigration that gave it to me seemed to think it was pretty important that I hand it in when I leave. I would like to think I could just show my passport with the relevent stamp dates if there are any problems.

But Ive learned not to completely trust logic in these situations.

Am I going to have to leave again before Aug. 20th if I don't hand in this paper to customs?

Also, it would be nice to get an official word on this but I dont know who to talk to, or who will be available on the weekend.

I found this list of phone numbers but I'm not sure if this is what Im looking for:

So you just leave. I think that's all they are worried about. I had an exit order once, and was able to return the same day. I had to leave the country, though. That's all going to be stamped into your passport. I am pretty sure they'll have your exit order in the computers at the airport. In any case, what they are worried about is that you will leave. Wouldn't hurt to ask them, though.

Thank you. OK, Ill just take the ferry.

The only thing is, the woman at immigration made a point of fasting the paper to my passport with a paper clip because she thought I would forget it.

I guess shes a prophet.

yeah, actually the immi guy (when I didn't have my exit order) was upset that I didn't have an ARC to give him (had to give it up when getting the exit order) and wrote something in my passport

guess I shouldn't have said I wasn't coming back.. act like you're just going on holiday, no problem!

I got one because I was busted for teaching before my E-2 came though. I also got fined 500,000 won. I was not allowed to get a contract with that school (a blessing).
