I don't know how to paraphrase all of Joe Boxer's quotes, but I agree with him. Although, I have to say that the reason why it's better to be American when it comes to athletics is because of the professional leagues and corporate sponsors.

If there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, there is no incentive for athletes to participate in that sport. I don't know what incentive there is in Canada to become a so called Canadian champion or Canadian record holder. Are there millions of dollars to be had because of that feat? Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it. Seems to me that the only sport Canada cares about is hockey. If you are not a hockey player, then forget about it up there. I mean seriously, how many Canadians are there in the NBA, NFL, pro boxing champions, top money makers on the PGA tour, top money makers in pro tennis, how many Canadians are there in Major league baseball? Probably there are more Venezuelans and Colombians in Major league baseball. Canada only cares about hockey. And from what I hear, they are losing ground there too. Sounds like half the hockey players when I turn on the TV are Russians and Swedes. Twenty years from now, Canada won't be good at anything. Except being fat. Maybe competitive eating holds a future up there.

I think even THAT may be out of our grasp. Check out the Japanese champ!

That Japanese guy rules! He can eat that much and maintain a six pack like that. Truly amazing. Razz

However, when it comes to the "Fat Olympics" the USA truly takes the cake. (and the pie and the rest of the dessert) Hee hee j/k
