We need a 'Dave's ESL Cafe' Cafe'.

Its time, long past time, Dave.

Pick a neighbourhood: Myeongdong, Gangnam, Shinchon, or (if the cash flow's hurtin' from any investments suffering in the subprime debacle) Hongik. Then hire one of those up and coming architects out of Akpujong, and get building.

Over in this corner will be the early-rising Whiners. And, look, held back by a sharp-eyed bunch (gaggle) of bouncers/Moderators, the ever-ready Apologists. And across the ways, sitting, some standing in dominance, next to those full length windows, the Trolls, and in close proximity to the Flamers. So close are they that one might wonder if they are in cahoots, as they sometimes seem to be - just arrive early enough, or late enough (depends on your time zone), to see 'em huddled together. (A reverse 'bring me your huddled masses' kinda thing; was the shout, "Export the malcontents to the furtherest reaches of Asia!"?).

And, even as we survey the scene, other Regulars, with a sprinkling of Newbies, some alone, some in pairs, the odd ones in groups, are lining up to make their presence felt. Some may leave, but they invariably return; some may decry, only to realize the error of their ways.

This Cafe' -'Dave's ESL Cafe' Cafe' - never closes...

No one would show up because it's much easier to lie about your life on the internet. Especially the latest "i'm so handsome comments" wouldn't be as effective in real life.

Yeah, I could get into that. I would show up with a flamethrower
and get myself a little BBQ action going. Just kidding, I would love
to meet all you wonderful people. I really would.

Why would one wish to visit a cafe jam-packed full of miserable, depressed, homesick, whining, aggressive, sarcastic, anti-social, narcissistic, sexually deviant career failures?

I think a "Haters" versus "Apologists" paintball war could be entertaining.

I'd show up, I'd just be incognito and no one would know who I was or where I was. In fact, I wouldn't show up, but I'd say that I did show up and I'd write commentary about the event on Dave's like I was there. It'd probably be accurate, too.

nah he's too lazy for this. we have to pick a place like on Seinfeld where everybody randomly meets up. please god don't let it be starbuck's.

it needs free wireless internet so you can post :] and my preference would be an unknown korean cafe to support the local economy

just came to be: cafe/boxing ring. start arguing then beat the crap out of each other. coffee and a bloodfest!

I'd go to a Dave's ESL Cafe cafe. I'll give a description of myself so you'll recognize me:

I'll fly in on my Gulfstream IV jet, which I bought after doing a few private lessons at 400 million won per hour

I'll be wearing a custom tailored Brioni suit which will subtly hint at my washboard abs and match my chisled jaw perfectly. On each arm will be two leggy, miniskirted Korean hotties. Perhaps Hyori (see avatar, left) will be one of them? I may get sick of her by then, so we'll see.

After I compare notes with the other People Like Me on this board (based on the threads I'm seeing lately, it seems there are a lot!), I will return to my 8000 pyong penthouse in Apgujeong and let the aforementioned hotties pleasure me.

Oh, and the best part of all this: it's one hundred percent true! Cool Razz
