Someone once challenged Hemingway to write a 6-word story. He did: "For sale: baby shoes, never used". In 2006 the online magazine Smith asked people to write 6-word life stories. The editors of The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2007 selected some of the results. Here are some samples:
a. Being a monk stunk. Better gay.
b. Found true love. Married someone else.
c. Bad brakes discovered at high speed.
d. Ex-wife and contractor now have house.
e. Savior complex makes for many disappointments.
f. My spiritual path is 100 proof.
g. Wasnt born a redhead; fixed that.
h. Boyfriend in bed, still a lesbian?
i. Young, skinny, ridiculed. Old, skinny, envied.
j. Discovered moral code via Judy Blume.
k. Hiding in apartment knitting against depression.
l. Near death experiences are my forte.
m. Never really finished anything, except cake.
I decided to try it and found it isnt all that hard. I thought of several, none as witty as the above, but hey.
Teaching is the icing of life.
What can you say about your life in 6 words? |

All told, never bought or sold.
not sure what that means, but certain it will seem very corny in about 5 minutes. |

Could be something worth trying in a classroom, but it's probably been done to death already. |

Lower mathematics is difficult for some. Neither 5 nor 7 is 6.
Let's keep to the 6-word rule. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Please repeat as often as necessary. |
