|
|
Hi All,
I really want to make a website for my classes this semester.
Somewhere to post important dates, syllabus, for students to upload homework, display grades etc..
The problem is, I have no idea how to do it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks |

| Send me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help, BUT I don't have a lot of time to spend. I can get you started and give you a good place to go for server space that is free. Good luck. |

Why not create a ning site? www.ning.com
Easy and free. I've been using them with my classes for 3 semesters now.
Have a look- if it appeals to you feel free to ask an questions. |

| I second the Ning website. You can also read about it on about.com. |

You can find an article about Ning I wrote HERE.
You can do a lot because you can put up your own pages beyond the main and member pages. Use those pages to customize content.
If you want lots of trick of the trade info. on using Ning , just search EFL Classroom. For softer and more pedagogical discussion see http://education.ning.com .
If you PM me, I'll send a link to what I use. We have a moodle but I find a ning good for sharing resources and real 2.0 interaction.

what a great thread!
in my own present circumstance, I don't require the help since my uni provides an infrastructure for that stuff, but it's cool to see what other options are out there...
That is, what I use isn't perfect!
thank you |

This is what I use, it's great and user friendly to boot. It doesn't have Korean so the students have to practice their English. |

Alternatively, hire someone whose major at college was computer science (read: me) |
