| AT the (inter?)national KOTESOL meeting last year, there was a presentation on a book and course of student-centered teaching using a purpose-written book about tourism in Korea. As I recall, the book was published by a small Korean press. Can any-one help me find the name of the book and how to order it for a class starting NEXT WEEK? I'd appreciate any tips or leads ! |

Visit Korea!: Task-based Tourism English
* Tourism high schools and colleges, plus ESP learners
* Introductions; Study Skills; The Travel Nesletter; Planning a Trip; Travel in Korea; The Travel Agent; The Hotel; The Restaurant; Sports and Pastimes; At the Doctor's; Entertainment and Shopping; Cultural Identities.
It can be purchased through Kyobo Books. A friend of mine used it with great success. I'm not sure about who the publisher is, but I think it might be Compass. |

This sounds like a fun course, and it would show them that YOU like learning about their country too. And that's what impresses the Moms, makes you friends in Korea.
You guys traveling around Asia should bring back brochures, magazines, business & post cards from your journeys and pass those around, make a display with too. Make a collection. Bet they'd love it. |
