Hi everyone.
I just had 2 questions that I wanted to ask:
1) I just got an email from my future employer, and it said that I'd need to have F-4 visa, but I was wondering if it's still true if I'm a Korean citizen. It seems that it's not necessary just by common sense, but I wanted to double-check, just in case.
2) Having that said, would I still need to get an authenticated criminal record check for them? I know that this is required for E-2 visas, but since I probably won't be needing it for visa application, would it be still necessary? I just don't want to go through paperworks and running around to get that done if it's not required in my case. |

1) Maybe...an F4 carries different weight. It means you've gained citizenship...or had it all along...in a different country. It could be a case of outright discrimination...the employer obviously firmly believes that an F4 holder will speak infinitely better English than a Korean citizen.
2) No criminal check needed...another case of discrimination...for the better in this case. F4 holders and Korean citizens living abroad do not need criminal checks, degree authentication, or health checks. You simply hop on a plane then start working.
Now you're seeing the other side of the coin that the rest of us deal with constantly. Welcome to our world!!! Good luck!! |
