For less than a $100 more, you can get a slightly better laptop brand new from HP website (Compaq).

If the above buyer falls through, i'd be interested for $400.
Lmk via PM.

Yes, you can.
There is a Compaq and a very nice Acer for $600 at Yongsan I'Park Mall- similar to his laptop except they were Intel Dual Core T2xx, 160gb HD, and same gfx card.

I think HP laptops run a little more though, and did the ones you saw have 2GB of RAM? If they did then they ARE a pretty good deal for Korea.

You are exactly right about that CHD, but seeing as how it originally had only 2 512mb sticks they both had to be replaced. That cost 45,000. The 12 cell battery was 105,000.

As far as being able to get a new special edition HP (not Compaq) with these specs in Korea for just 100,000 more, please provide the link dkoryo.

Think of your target market.
What makes you think someone has to pick an HP SPECIAL EDITION? Pay a little more for the white color when they can get better specs with a different model and sacrifice the little style that it gives. Your target market should have already decided to sacrifice design for performance and best bang for the buck. So Compaq, which you decided to spit it, is a very viable and open option for the people you are trying to sell to. But as for the earlier post, I did not do my research fully before posting unlike the post I made for the other HP laptop posted in this forum. I will take back my previous post. For $600 you can buy a BRAND NEW laptop with your specs or slightly better in Korea, especially at Yongsan I'Park Mall with their 15" Acer model. eBay is still very open market for us in Korea as many ship worldwide, and for $600 you can get even better models, you can check the post I made on the other HP laptop.

I will say your asking price is not bad now, but should be up for negotiating a certain amount off. Thanks and bye!

No worries here. HP owns and builds Compaqs obviously. Although the internals may be the same, I can't say that for the casing on Compaqs. I had one for about a week and the housing just reeked of cheapness. Thanks for the input regardless. Hopefully people can make an educated decision based on your info and what is being offered for sale.

One big point about buying from IPark or wherever in Yongsan; are you going to get an English OS and Office at that price?

I think enough of the laptop that I have for sale that I bought the new updated 14" version of it while I was back home in the States. I checked the Vista Windows Experience of the 2 side by side just now, and they are quite comparable even though the new one has better specs. Go figure Surprised .
