I am flying home in February for good and the whole family is going to fly business class. We are flying direct to Toronto with Korean Air and there are two levels of business class (normal level and the 2nd floor of the plane). I have been reading seat reviews, but can't find the answer to my question so anyone in the know here that can help I would appreciate it.

Which is better the top or the bottom level? My wife seems to think that the top level will be hotter because hot air rises, but I am not sure that is true. I would think that the top level is a little better because it is seperate from the rest of the plane, but again I am not sure if that is true. Any help is appreciated.

I've never done it. But, my parents were on the second floor and they enjoyed it. Take it for whatever it is worth. I think it was just "neat" for them.

i was on the bottom floor once, and i was extremely comfortable. temperature was normal, so i wouldn't worry about it being colder down there, and it was pretty quiet as well. i've never been on the upper level though, however i think you'll find the bottom one just as comfortable

ive ridden coach and business on Korean Air, both times I found it to be really really hot in the cabin. There was no a/c vents above the seats so I was sweating, might have been just those planes though

I`Ve flown business class on KE74 before. It`s an older 747 so there`s none of the sleeper beds or computerized entertainment systems. The service was good though. The temperatures at that altitude are usually extreme so the cabin never really gets that hot, usually more chilly than anything.

Upstairs is better. If not for simply a different view. Have done it myself.
However, I think you might find business class to be no more than extra large seating and that's about it.

Just for some random bull, airplane companies were very happy to stop smoking on planes as they now use less air going to the cabin at high altitudes....... Idea

I've only experienced the upper level of business class, because in my experience it's cheaper than the lower level.
I did find it chillyl on the upper level. I was the first time I had to use the bwankie for my nappy nap.

The top is worse only because they have to wait for the lower business class to exit the airplane after landing. It bothered me. For that money I wanted to be a somebody.

You're flying home. Just be happy at that. In 12 hours flight time you will be free from this mess.

Totally endorse the Kosmo sleeper seats on Korea Air, they lie flat and have that great massage function. I managed to really fall asleep on the few occasions I flew business. I've also flown upper deck on Asiana a few times and I recommend it: it's a completely separate cabin and has a 2 +2 seat arrangement, very comfortable. Try to get window seat as you get to have tons of storage.
