Does anyone know of any gyms around this area that allow foreigners to join? I tried using the search function but most of the information was dated. As you are probably well aware, gyms tend to come and go rather quickly sometimes.
Also, I am assuming fitness equipment is readily available in Korea, like at Emart, Carrefour, Homeplus, etc?
Your help would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi. I have worked out at a Kick Boxing gym for around two years now. It's about a five minutes walk from Suwon Station. The coach is a good fella, and he lets me train there for a small fee because I'm not interested in Kick Boxing itself having boxed since I was a lad. I just wanted to use the bag a few times a week, and I don't need a trainer. He has some weights, although they have seen better days. I don't know of any other gyms around that area, but, I'll have a look around. You can pick up some weights at the small local sports stores, (look for the Hula Hoops out the front ) or at the places you mentioned. If your interested, let me know. |

A buddy of mine told me there is some massive world cup gym in the Suwon area, or something like that. But I haven't yet moved there (1 more week) so haven't actually searched around yet. I will be looking for something soon though.
I am also interested in some kind of dojo/martial arts gym, as I've been doing that here in Mokdong and find it a great workout. Hopefully I can find something like that there as well. |
