I don't get The Office. Does this have something to so with never having lived/worked in normal, everyday corporate America/Britain?

Probably. Although I've never had an office job per se and I find it hilarious. It's all about awkwardness and people's quirks, so if you don't find those funny then you probably won't get it period.

Otherwise though, you just need to get to know the characters a bit. Season 1 of the US version isn't that great, but if you watch season 2 straight through I think you'll find season 3 quite a lot of fun.

The office is deadly funny, both UK and US version. Maybe the humor does emerge from working in an office. The Germans, French, and Quebec have all produced their own spin offs. I'd love to be able to get all three on DVD (with subtitles).

Russia is about to launch their own spinoff this upcoming season as well.

'La Job'

I'm obsessed with the American version, and it's the only TV show (other than No Reservations) that I actually make plans to watch every week.

If you don't appreciated Schadenfreude you won't appreciate the office.

Personally, I think that the British Office is better than the American version. However, both are funny.

A show I recently got hooked on is Peep Show...hilarious.

Peep show rules. The "bad thing" episode is hilarious. My fave Peep Show quote is "I wonder what I'll do next? Perhaps I'll call my grandfather and call him a T.W.A.T". Very Happy

BTW, how can you not get the office? Two up the bum, no harm done - as the fantastic Finchy is wont to exclaim. Razz

Yes.

At least, that's what I'm told.
