And get followed around the whole time you're there?

There's this guitar shop close to my place, I go there about once a month to buy new strings. I like to look around at the new models of acoustics and electrics, basses, drums, everything, just sort of poke around.

Sure enough, each time this dude follows me around without missing a single step.

Super-annoying. I can't tell if it's:

a.) helpfulness and attentiveness

b.) fear that I'm gonna break something

c.) fear that I'm gonna steal something

Does anyone else notice this? Or do I just look like a derelict?

Not that I think everything HAS to be the same here as back home, but one of my favorite things to do back home was going to Guitar Center about once every two weeks, grabbing a random guitar off the wall and messing around on it without being followed, or even watched.

Talk to him, tell him what you want and want to play. He's there because he wants to sell you something. If he pushes you sales talky tell him what you want.

Yes, that happens a lot here. I think they think it means good customer service or something. I usually tell them I'm just looking and then they leave me alone.

Learn the phrase "eye shopping" once you say that they leave you alone

I paid 22 000 won (2 point 2 man won) for D'Addario EXP. However, that was in South Africa.

Looking at a small guitar shop in Korea the strings seemed very expensive and that's why I asked. 6 man won seems expensive to me, and you do it once a month, hey?

I replace at very long intervals only. We're talking one year at home, though in Korea I play more regularly and act accordingly..

Somehow I think he meant 6000 won, not 60'000.

I've seen guitars for less than 60'000 won.

Stairway (minus the solo) is not really particularly difficult.

It's cake actually. And most of the solo isn't actually that bad.

I hate to put it like this, but my forte is strumming. Should rather say, I like to strum. Moreover, I've encountered natural pickers who are pedestrian strummers,

Bassplay is what I've always admired and seek it out on every occasion.. I wonder what traits it takes to become a bass player. I'd hate to invest then find that it's not congenial. On the other hand once invested commitment does naturally follow.

Same with harmonica. The times I've tried weren't encouraging; looks so easy, though.
