My conspiracy theory: if all Chinese athletes were taking performance enhancing drugs, would they be reported by the IOC? Me thinks not

I think in 30-40 years the IOC will give up, and all drugs will be legal.

I remember Steven Burst(sp?), sports columnist for the Globe and Mail, predicted Ben Johnson will get his gold medal back in his/our lifespan.

All these athletes are doping.

It's time we embrace cheating as a way of life... like certain countries do.

I dont really understand the outrage over performance enhancing drugs in sport. Performance enhancers are the backbone of modern society. Viagra, knee replacement surgery, radar detectors, tyelonol, your morning jolt of coffee, beer( in terms of being more social) are all performance enhancers. Every one uses them.

then it becomes more about the country with the best scientists and money to produce drugs that have the best effect rather than the best athletes.

though you could argue that countries who have more money can provide better training facilities and coaches etc.....though bringing drugs into simply widens the gap.

as the East German women olympians from 20 years ago their thoughts.

I'd say ask Lyle Alzado his as well, but something tells me he's kinda mute to the subject.

I think allowing drugs into the Olympics would make it much more entertaining. Who wouldn't like to see someone run the 100m in 7 seconds, or throw the javelin 150m?

What the East Germans did was gender bending. And the athletes never knew. Drugs today are not the same as those.

Either some hippie or a canadian. If you bothered to look into the destructive nature of steroidals and other drugs, you'd have an idea as to their consequences.

But enjoy your drug uptopia on internet chat rooms. Because that's the only place it's ever going to exist in the world. or at least the Olympics.

In your infinite scientific knowledge of steroids, tell me the current health status of Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Lou Ferrigno. What about Barry Bonds, Mark Mcgwire, Sammy Sosa, Ben Johnson, Marion Jones and every Tour De France bike rider. How are they all doing?
