I've just watched 4 out of 7 episodes of a new HBO mini series called Generation Kill.

It's about the early stages of the war in Iraq from te perspective of a group of marines.

It's written by the same creator of The Wire.

[2] I've been getting into watching "fake" reality shows lately. Several years ago there was one called "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance"; a woman pretending to her family that she's getting married to a jerk, but she doesn't know that he's an actor and not a contestant like her. I can't find a torrent for it, but they did a followup on the show that I found called "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss" (another "fake" reality show). If anyone can find a MBFOF torrent, please let me know.

I'm giving MBFOB another watch, and it's simply brilliant. It's a fake show similar to "The Apprentice" and the boss is an arrogant bellend. The challenges are ridiculous, the rewards are lame, the business "advice" he gives makes everyone scratch their heads and think the guy's a nutter. Then there's his catchphrase: "Get the hell outta my office!"

Those poor saps who think it's all real. Laughing Laughing

It won't be renewed, and in fact has been cut back by one episode. Get your fix while you can.

(I was a fan of the comic books, so I'm digging the show, too... Natalie being uber-hot doesn't hurt)

Does The Time Machine (1960) count as 'something good'?

Me too, it's awesome.

Other classics...

Mad men; excellent show set in the sixties about ad execs. (HBO)

Six Feet Under (HBO)

In Treatment (HBO)

Basically anything HBO is usually very good at worst.

"How To Not Live Your Life" is an amusingly crass little British sit-com about a scumbag in his mid-thirties. It's not as grisly as, say, "Peep Show," but it's got a bit of spine to it. I do believe the second episode just came out. I laughed when I watched it tired, but I'm pretty sure it's good enough to watch when you're well awake.
