Will immigration officials give me a hard time at the airport getting into the country? I have my visa ready, but only have a one way ticket because I got a free ticket through aeroplan. Anyone have any experience with this. Thanks.

If you have your E2 in your passport you will have no problems.

Is your school paying for the ticket? If so you are wasting a free one. If not, never mind. |

Congratulations on the free ticket. And yes, there will be no problems with coming in on a one-way ticket provided, of course, that you have your visa. In fact, the second time that I came to Korea to work, I flew in on a one-way ticket with Singapore Airlines. |

I flew into this country twice on a tourist visa and did not have an outbound flight, and I never had any real problems.
The first time, a lady from the health quarantine desk (I'm not sure why it was her business anyway) asked me "Where are you going after Korea? You need a round trip flight." And I just nodded and said, "Oh yeah, I'm traveling around Asia so I'm going on to China next." She said ok and didn't ask to see a ticket or anything.
The second time, no one asked at all. My advice would be don't dress like a bum, where something nice, and shower before-hand. If you look presentable then I doubt you'll have any problems. When in doubt, smile and act like a naive tourist!! |

as was mentioned by ttompatz in this thread:

The problems will occur when you try to get a boarding pass to get on the plane to come here. The airline is responsible for repatriating you at their expense if you are denied entry AND they get fined as well so it is the AIRLINE who will give you problems and probably deny you boarding if you do not have return or onward passage or your E2.
-The solution is to purchase a FULLY REFUNDABLE ticket exiting the country and cash it in after you get here. (Alternatively, if you get a ticket from Incheon to Osaka you can use it for your visa run come the time). |
that's why it's their business to ask where you are going and what you are doing. because the airline has to pay for it if you get denied entry for whatever reason. |
