I know this has been talked about before, but whenever I try to use the search function I just get a blank screen.
Has anyone gotten a re-entry permit at the airport lately? Was it a hassle?
thanks |

Mega hassle. Make sure you get to the airport a lot earlier than two hours before your flight leaves. |

Done it twice and it took about 30 mins each time. Check in then find the immigration office before you go through security/immigration. Fill out a form, pay 30,000 (I think) and you're done. |

I concur with samd. All I'd add is that you don't need to pay anything for a single re-entry permit if you're from the UK. |

Very easy and not much hassle at all. It has taken me anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour so leave an hour earlier just to be on the safe side if you need to stop by immigration. You should do this first before waiting in line to get your boarding pass. |

Ive done it a couple of times... took me about 10 mins plus time waiting in the line. Sometimes the line is looooong, sometimes im the only one there. If theres a few people waiting, make sure you get a ticket for the line first. |

Does anyone know if the immigration office at the airport is open and processes permits on Saturday? I assume it is, but you never know with bureaucracy. |

6am - 10pm, 7 days a week.
They are located in a small hallway along the back wall of the departures level (before you go through security) behind check-in counters F or H. |

I have done it 3 times:
First time took 2 hours and almost missed my flight.
Second time took 40 minutes and I had an extra 2 hours to kill.
Last week took me 10 minutes and I had an extra 5 hours to kill (flight was delayed and I went in extra early to be safe).
It's hard to gauge.
I'd just go in early to err on the side of caution and make sure you have something to entertain yourself with for the rest of your time. |

Done it twice,
The queue has been moderate each time, about 20-30 mins, about 5 mins to get the actual permit. I also wasn't charged 30,000 as I had been expecting either time, yay! |

You must be from the UK. Re-entry is free for them.

I would simply save myself the time, and apply for the multiple re-entry when I apply for my ARC card, or as it were, when I extended it. You have to go to immigration to take care of one thing, why not do 2 things at the same time. Plus, at the airport, you can only get a single re-entry. |

You can also get the re-entry permit online. I don't have the link anymore, but hopefully someone else will chime in. It was really easy and much more convenient. |
