Anyone know how long of a commute it is from PNU to Yangsan? Teaching begins at 2:30 pm/no split shifts. Does the metro have service to Yangsan? Thanks a lot. |

It will take you about an hour to get to Yangsan from PNU. You will need to make 2 transfers (yeonsan-dong and Deokcheon). There are 23 stops (2 min. each) but the transfers add a few more minutes. So, one hour is a pretty good estimate, certainly not longer than that. |

I will confirm that there is a bus from PNU to Yangsan which takes approximately 20 minutes. You can catch it from right beside the PNU subway station and it'll take you to fairly close to wherever you need to be in Yangsan.
One of my korean co-teachers makes the trip from PNU to Yangsan every day, and doesn't seem to mind (she's the "i used to work at a foreigner bar" type, not the ultra-dedicated type).
If you feel lazy a cab from PNU to Yangsan can be negotiated for 15,000 won or less.
I'm not sure what your circumstances are but living in Yangsan is definitely not a terrible option either. There's all you would need during the week (a few decent bars, restaurants, an Emart, a gym and foreigners), and PNU is close enough to be accessible for shopping/eating/drinking adventures. |
