Anything I might forget to bring? I know the basics like condoms, razors, deodorant, shoes and lots of clothes because I don't expect to find much my size their in the ROK. Is it expected to bring a gift to the school director or anything like that? Please let me know folks, I appreciate it.

No, it isn't necessary. Some people do it, but it is no where near universal. No one will have a problem if you don't do it. The idea is a holdover from the days when bribery was rampant in the school systems.

If you have some favorite comfort food that comes pre-packaged, you might want to bring some of that. Like butterscotch pudding.

Agreed. I brought chocolates for the principal and VP when I came over. They didn't seem all that appreciated, really. If you feel the need to give a gift, they would probably be as happy or happier with something bought in Korea anyway.

Pre-packaged food is a good idea too. Something or other that you just can't find in Korea, like pudding. I brought over packets of instant gravy and Stove-top stuffing and was ecstatic when Thanksgiving came around. When I go back I think I'll probably grab some various candy that I like that Korea doesn't have. Just find something light and easy to pack that will help get you through a rough day.

They have razors like the four- and five-blade new ones from Gilette and the like..... as for the condoms...... my guess is someone is just trying to brag, and be optimistic...

Thank you all for your ideas. I will try to get some pudding, taco seasoning and stuffing. The other stuff is already bought but I won't worry about bringing extra. Thank you all and see ya soon, leaving Friday.
