My school never seems to give me extra days off work.

But, today I found out my school will give us September 12th-16th as vacation time, for Chusok.

I am very happy to hear that, my school is always stingy when it comes to time off not in the contract.

Whoopee! Cool

It sounds like you get only two extra days off really. And those days are usually given because most people will be gone or leave early to travel. If your school really loved you try to get the whole week off.

The reason you got it off is your boss wants to travel during that time. Well anyways enjoy your bounty. Have fun!

It seems that many of the hogwons in my hood are getting more days off then some of the public schools.
I do know of a few public schools which are getting three extra days off.
As for me , I dont think I will be getting any extra days off .My school blows!

Probably because that's the way they are. As I've stated before, the previous native at my school was ultra sociable and she got as many extra benefits as myself, zilch.

But of course, you have to insinuate I am not worthy of extra benefits, whereas the school are benevolent walking pieces of kindness. Oh dear.... Laughing

Chsuok this year falls on Sat, Sun, and Mon. Which means the 4 other days are normal days.

Big4Jerm3 Ya I am very upbeat person. I am HAPPY SHINY PERSON most of the time!

I can always find that stray hair in my cupcake. That pile of dung on the pass to enlightenment. That cloud behind the rainbow.

Yea I am a cynical, pessimistic SOB.

Still I the OP is happy for his time off I hope he does something FUN.

Last year I got 9 days of for Chuseok. This year I have only 5 because of it falling on a weekend. I doubt I'll be doing anything special anyway.

I found out today I will not have those extra days off for Chusok, because the Principal expects teachers to come into school during the 12th and 16th of September.

I also found out from now on the VP wants me to pay my bills through my bank and not in person every month, as I've previously done ever since I came to this school. They don't want me to take the time off. It seems the VP influenced that decision.

It's not all bad though. I've just submitted the 5th unit of 20 for my online TEFL course. Laughing

How much will you pay? It cost me 160 U.K. pounds, but of course my hard work is worth far more! Laughing
