lol, look at the original post. Am I not summing up something complex and making it sound very stupid??? Just trying to prove a point that you can take pretty much anything complex and make it sound stupid, much like the cartoon shown here.

I chose evolution because I know so many people that find the cartoon funny would be avid evolutionists.

Then please post a funny picture of evolution.Here I'll help you;

And complexity is an end product of evolution. Complexity(such as the animals and plants we see around us today) comes at the end, not the beginning.

OK, lets try this from another angle. Jesus was a man that walked on earth to help people. Bad things were done in his name so now he is the bad person, doesn't make to much since now does it? You guys think you can make fun of Christianity all you want but when someone pokes fun at something you believe in all you can do is respond with some scientific blah blah that not all scientists even agree on.

You say I believe in something stupid and I say you believe in something stupid, why do you get so offended?

Just looked at the picture now (didn't know if it was work safe or not). Pretty tame. Try this instead (maybe NSFW)
http://blog.wired.com/tableofmalcontents/images/2007/05/14/jesus_supper_zombie.jpg

I particularly like De Vinci's use of shade and light. The emotion in the disciples faces as Jesus predicts his future betrayal, then the ravenous reaction of his companions. Also notice the use of symbolism to represent the trinity(Dawn of the Dead, 24 Days Later and Resident Evil). Truly a masterpiece.

I'm not offended. Please carry on, just don't expect no comeback. It's not so much Jesus that I have a problem with, it's his fanclub. But yes it is rather annoying when we use science to back up what we say rather than a 2000 year old guide to living in a Roman backwater. And scientists disagree about many things, what do you think science is? It's not an indoctrination or following the leader. If you think evolution is bunkum then please, next time a doctor offers you antibiotics kindly decline on faith grounds.

not offended? The first time someone like me pokes fun at the fact that you believe that we came from monkeys about a million of you evolutionists show up to critique every little thing I say. The simple reason is that you don't like someone making fun of you for what you believe in.

I guess I should be like you guys and everytime someone says something bad about Jesus, I will just give the entire history of his life until you understand that what you wrote is incorrect.

Too bad I have a life and no time for sitting around dave and preying on people who don't believe in Jesus.

Don't you know? A lot of us don't eat breakfast and when we see someone like you come along we just get overcome and have to feed. Yum, yum fallacilicious, burrrrp.

I'm still not offended when I have to rebuke a fundies misconception of evolution. Maybe you are when people ask difficult questions about your beliefs.

Before this becomes one of those hate threads that has to be removed, may I suggest that Christianity does have a tradition of argument?

In other words, not all Christians believe the same thing.

For example: What John Shelby Spong and some others call "the myth of redemptive violence," more orthodox Christians call "Christ's death for our sins."

Other Christians disagree about things such as Pentecost, speaking in tongues, what will happen to the Jews when Christ returns...there's really no end to it. Why one would expect a Christian to believe that the earth was created in six days is beyond me, and I really don't see why people have such a problem with the idea of a creative causative agent within or behind the process of evolution. As for me, I believe in the scientific method for solving all sorts of problems, but perhaps not all problems.

You forgot the Spanish inquisition Rolling Eyes

And the fact that the English version of the bible is so far away from the Greek version it's just hilarious Laughing

The more of this junk on I read on this site the more ashamed I am of being raised Christian. Thank God my parents were thoughtful, rational, open-minded humans who taught me critical thinking instead of blind belief in dogmatic bs.

And like one of the posters before me, my entire extended family are devout Catholics who believe in science and evolution. Believe it or not faith and science can exist in the same world.

...and faith is the ultimate point. Blood into wine. Resurrection from the dead. Seventy-two virgins. Whatever. Be they what they may, religious ideas are cherished by many, and to poke fun at them is uncool.

Don't draw pictures of Muhammad if it makes Muslims want to kill you. It's stupid. Don't tell Catholics that Mary wasn't a virgin. It makes them want to kill you. It's stupid. Don't offer a Hindu a nice, rare porterhouse. It pisses them off and it's stupid.

Be just a little sensitive to folks' feelings. It'll do you well in the long run.

Damn. I sound like a democrat. That's really stupid.

People need to be able to laugh at themselves though. One of the problems with faith is that people tend to take themselves a little too seriously and become unable to actually see things from any other perspective.

I think evolution is a valid theory, but that doesn't mean I was unable to laugh when Mr./Ms. Garrison said we all came from a bunch of monkey-fish-frogs on South Park.

Lighten up folks.

I agree with folks having a sense of humor. It just needs to be tempered with a dash of tolerance.
