How advanced are the kids? Maybe you can play a game where you name a bunch of things: "He's wearing a black shirt, he has white shoes, who is he?" |

not sure how the book does the grammatical format, but an easy formula is to make a powerpoint w/ famous people and put a few pieces of info about them i.e. hometown/country, birthday, hobbies. students can then practice speaking about other people.
for example:
have a picture of Lee Hyo Ri
Who's she? She is >>>>
She's an entertainer.
Her birthday is >>>>>
She's from >>>>>>
She likes to >>>>>>
if they allowed attachments, i could post the ppt i made, but it's pretty easy to make. |

Generally speaking, grade 4 students in Gyongi-do will not know the occupations. In fact, even birthdays might be beyond them because it takes forever for them to learn the cardinal numbers - even if you ask them the date every day. |

If you want to see them memorize the crap out of something, tell them they have a quiz the next day, and let them know that their parents know.
Alas, it should be last resort, as this is part of the education system that should be done away with. |

hah, im going to teach this lesson in 2 weeks. just finished the lesson plan. i suggest the famous people game as mentioned previously and you can also teach vocab this way. make a powerpoint with clipart pictures of families, family members, occupations, etc...
Who are they?
(picture of old lady and old man)
This is a grandmother. This is a grandfather.
etc. |

I use this lesson to review facial descriptions.
First lesson: look at the dialogue and show a powerpoint with blurred pictures of celebrities
Second lesson: introduce facial descriptions, students draw monsters and describe them to their partner
Third lesson: show them the guess who board (pm me if you want a jpg of this) and play as a class
Fourth lesson: students play guess who in teams
Another activity could involve making a little poster about a family member with a picture and a few sentences describing them. |

Doesn't you co teacher already have a lesson planned for you?
You could just have the kids sing the classic Isley brothers song "Who's that lady?" |

I've made it all about the family.
We have learned the words
Grandmother
grandfather
aunt
uncle
mother
father
sister
brother
then we did this work sheet
http://www.kizclub.com/Topics/myself/myfamily.pdf
While the kids were cutting and pasting the cot and I walked around and asked kids..."who is she?" ect...
next we are goingto make mini books of our families.
hope it helps! |

This will be my first lesson plan and this site looks like it's got some good things I can use for other lessons too. Thank you! |

Just had a quick look at mediafire.com and there are a couple of files on there for Who is she - I remember this being a really dull lesson in the past.
Log on details:

If you want other grades then just change the 4 for a 3, 5 or 6 and you'll get that grade's files. Can be quite useful sometimes. |

| Get a hold of the "Let's Go" series of books (from Oxford UNi Press?) They have a whole series of supplementary lessons, including "who is she / he". Or ask you co-teacher to acquire them for you. From memory, there were about 5 series or more. |

That would be better I agree but it's not my site - I was just given the log in details by someone a while ago and thought it was quite useful. |
