Would you pay 40 quid for a pint or about $78! Has anyone here ever tried it? Was it good?
I'd love to try No.2 the Sam Adams Utopia- 25% alcohol, six pack of that shit and you'd be set for the night! Or No.3 the Tutankamun brew, created with the help of archaeologists who discovered some ancient egyptian beer recipe ha

I would, just to try it out and see if it was tasty. I'd be scared about trying Tut's Brew for fear of a curse. |

Of course I'd try it.
Hopefully the beers would all be available in the same place and you could make a (short) night of it.
MollyBloom, going to the bathroom the next day could be called 'The Curse of Tutankamen'.
"I've got the Curses".
Wonder if it turns your c^%p a funny colour? |

A six pack of 25% beer would be like drinking six regular sized bottles of wine.
Though now that I think about it I've known a couple Koreans who could drink six bottles of soju, and more. |

Eh...from my experience, the beers with way too high alcohol content and/or the ones that are wicked expensive are usually not all to great. At least not as good as their excess would make it seem.
I've had a $40 beer...it was okay at best, and I've had Dogfish Head World Wide Stout (23% alc), and it was absolutely horrid. It's great if you want to say that you've tried that...but it's not the best idea if you're just trying to have a good night. Anything over $15 a pint or 13% alc is probably not that great, imo. |

If you like that one...try Delerium Nocturnum. Imo it's better than tremens. |

Never. That's just foolish.
In Korea, it's all about the 3,000 won yellow draught when out, and 2,900 won Heinies when at home.
At home home, local beer. 24 in a case. Don't even know how much a 24 goes for anymore... |

When it comes to beer, I can't agree more. The Quality of life factor in Belgium is extremely high.
But it can become a trifle boring. I know since I am Belgian . |

I spent a week there. Nice place, nice people, but I must agree it's somewhat boring. I also thought alot of the food was too rich, but that's just personal taste.
Anyway, I would recommend Belgium for those with high blood-pressure. |

When I lived in Cambridge/Boston, I frequented a bar called Bukowski's. Anyone from that area knows of it. Hipster bar. They have a LOT of beers on their menu, definitely over 100. They have a thing called the Dead Writers Clubs, where you have to drink all the beers on the menu within a number of months, and you get a crystal mug with your favorite dead writer's name etched into it. The only perk from that accomplishment is that you can drink out of the large mug (maybe 24 oz?) for the price of whatever beer you drink. I never did it because it can get quite expensive; some beers on the menus are over $15. I had some friends that did it.
Of course, I had some friends that worked there, so I got to drink all kinds of amazing beers for cheap/free: Delerium Tremens, Chimay, lambics, Bacchus, Duvel, Fantome, Wolaver's, Allagash, Unibroue (La Fin Du Monde, Ephemere)...you get the idea. God I love good beer. |

A curiosity to me is:
Why can't all countries make decent beer?
What's up? What's the secret?
What's so hard about it? Why do some countries make nothing but swill? Is it the cost or something?
Koreans, for example, love drinking, but their beer is crap. Every Korean beer sucks ass. Same in some other countries. Taiwan? Forget it. Worst swill ever.
21st century, technology, internet, etc... but some countries simply do not make even one good beer. It confuses me. |
